Wayne Hubert
CEO and Director
Mr. Hubert was most recently CEO and director of Andean Resources Limited from 2006 until December 2010. When he joined Andean, the company had a market capitalization of $70 million and a resource base of about 800,000 ounces of gold. Mr. Hubert helped lead Andean through several discoveries which increased the resource base to over 5 million ounces of high-grade gold as well as subsequent feasibility studies, financings and permitting. Andean was ultimately acquired by Goldcorp for US$3.5 billion.
Prior to his tenure at Andean, Mr. Hubert was with Meridian Gold Inc. for 14 years, ultimately taking on the role of Vice-President Corporate Development and Investor Relations.
During his career, Mr. Hubert gained considerable experience in the areas of finance, exploration, project development, permitting and construction. He has a bachelor of science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cape Town and an MBA from Brigham Young University.
Kerry M. Curtis
Independent Chairman and Director
Mr. Curtis has 35 years of experience in the Canadian mining sector. He is the former President, CEO and director of Cumberland Resources. At Cumberland, he directed the advancement of the Meadowbank gold project in Nunavut through discovery, deposit delineation and resource expansion from 200,000 ounces to 4 million ounces to become one of Canada’s largest gold resources. Mr. Curtis further led the project through bankable feasibility, development permitting, project financing and initial construction until the company was acquired by Agnico-Eagle Mines in 2007 in a transaction valued at ~$730 million. Meadowbank is currently one of Canada’s largest producing gold mines.
Prior to Cumberland, Mr. Curtis focused on exploration to production stage polymetallic deposits in Canada, working with a variety of senior and junior mining companies including Minnova, Kennecott Canada and Redfern Resources.
Mr. Curtis has completed over $1 billion in mining transactions during his career including: equity financing for exploration, feasibility, environmental permitting and project construction; syndicated project debt financing; and merger/acquisition transactions. He is a graduate of the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Science in Geology.
Louis Montpellier
Director
Mr. Montpellier attended the University of British Columbia and received his law degree from the University of Victoria. He began practising law in Vancouver in 1981 and worked exclusively in the capital markets as counsel to emerging issuers and listed public companies engaged in mineral exploration and mining from 1983 to 2010. He is a former founding director and senior officer of Extorre Gold Mines Ltd. which was acquired by Yamana in 2012 for ~$395 million. He continues to be involved as an independent director for a number of companies in the mining sector.
Michael Westcott
Director
Mr. Westcott has over 30 years of experience in equity capital markets and mining industries. After 25 years in various roles at Raymond James Ltd., including Head of Institutional Equity Sales and Mining Equity Research Analyst, he retired as Head of Equities in 2021. Prior to joining Raymond James in 1996, Mr. Westcott was an Exploration Geologist at Cominco Ltd. and a Corporate Analyst at the Vancouver Stock Exchange.
Mr. Westcott has a Master of Science in Geology, Mineral Exploration (Minex), from Queen’s University and a Bachelor of Science, Geology, from the University of British Columbia. He has completed securities industry courses including: Partners, Directors and Senior Officers; Professional Financial Planning; Canadian Securities Course; Conduct and Practices Handbook; and FINRA Series 24, 37,63.
Lesia Burianyk
CFO
Ms. Burianyk has over 15 years of industry experience with TSX-V and CSE listed companies. She is a former audit manager at a Canadian accounting firm specializing in the mining industry. Ms. Burianyk is a CPA, CA and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Simon Fraser University.
Joyce Musial
Vice President, Corporate Affairs
Ms. Musial has over 35 years of management and corporate communications experience with public companies in the mining sector. She has a wide range of experience with exploration, development and producing mining companies, and was a member of a management team that successfully advanced a junior exploration company through development to acquisition. Ms. Musial’s experience includes positions with Placer Dome, Cumberland Resources and Velocity Minerals, as well as consulting roles in numerous mineral resource companies. She has an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in geology from the University of Western Ontario and has completed the Canadian Securities Course.
Brian McGrath
Project Manager, B.Sc.
Mr. McGrath is a Vancouver-based Consultant with over 25 years of experience in the Americas exploring for gold and base metal targets. Mr. McGrath has managed drill programs and surface exploration programs for InZinc since 2017. He is a director of Nickelex Resource Corporation and has held positions with the Manex Resource Group, Cumberland Resources Ltd. (the team successfully built a multi-million ounce reserve), the BC Ministry of Energy and Mines, Homestake Exploration Canada, Echo Bay Mines and Redfern Resources. Mr. McGrath has a Bachelor of Science degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland.
